This policy applies to the Pressing, Assembly and Tube Cutting activities undertaken by Caparo on the Willenhall site which incorporates both CTC2 and CMS facilities, and recognises the need to effectively control the risks to the health and safety of its employees and any other persons who may be affected by its activities.
The company aims to develop and maintain a culture that is suportive of health and safety through a programme of training, assessment of risk and consultation with its employees. In particular, the company accepts responsibilty for:
Implementation of this policy is the responsibility of the line managers, as set out in the organisation section of this policy. The policy, organisation and arrangements for implementation will be formally reviewed on a regular basis, at least annually, and shall be updated as necessary to reflect changes in the business, the risk control measures and legislation.
Health and Safety performance on the site shall be reviewed at least every year at a review meeting to be attended by representatives from all business units, the Managing Director and the company Health & Safety Advisor.
All employees are reminded that it is a condition of employment that they have due regard for their own responsibilities and accountability for health and safety issues, and are aware of their legal obligation to co-operate with the company management in the implementation of this policy.
The company directors have overall responsibility for health and safety standards within the company. The implementation of the health and safety policy shall be given equal priority to other business objectives.
